Belichick consults Charlie
Weis
Bill Belichick
recently contacted Charlie Weis to get his advice
on how to reignite the Patriots offense.
Once viewed as an explosive unit, the offense has
sputtered, scoring only 21 points in their win over
the Chargers last Sunday. Earlier in the season
they'd sometimes score 21 in a quarter.
"Charlie is an offensive genius," Belichick
explained. "He's continued his wizardry
at Notre Dame. I started consulting him just
before the Ravens game."
Weis left the Patriots organization after the 2005
season. Last year he led the Notre Dame Fighting
Irish to a 3-9 season. Notre Dame averaged
16.4 points per game.
